E-WMS - Rebuild stock balances

WMS documentation

Introduction

This document describes E-WMS menu WMS, Checks, Rebuild stock balances, as introduced in release 407.

Description

In release 407 E-WMS started using it's own stock balances table. This table needs to be build up when first updating to Exact Globe Next release 407 or higher. If this action was not done once yet, you will see following message when starting a WMS control center:

"Error: Please run 'Rebuild Stock Balances' from E-WMS menu first."

To build the E-WMS stock balances table for the first time, or to rebuild the totals in case of inconsistency, you can start menu WMS, Checks, Rebuild stock balances.

Before starting this rebuild, it is necessary that all E-WMS functions, like Control Centers, RF services and scanning are suspended, until the rebuild is done. Also there should be no SQL locks on Exact Globe Next transactions (Gbkmut table), therefore it is advisable to have Exact Globe Next closed on all workstations.

When this rebuild function is started for the first time, the rebuild will start at once. If you start this menu after the first rebuild, you can make a selection on warehouse and item codes.

After making a selection, or on the first rebuild, the rebuild will start.

Depending on the size of your database and server performance, this action may take some time.

Following is done during this rebuild:

  • Stock totals from Exact Globe Next (Gbkmut) are compared with stock totals from the WMS transaction table (csPickitSKUmut)
  • For found differences, new correction records are added to the WMS table
  • the WMS stock balances table (csPickitStockBalance) is forcibly rebuilt

When correction records have been added to SKUmut, you will see the status text 'WMS stock transactions: Repaired'. When no correction records have been added you will see the message 'WMS stock transactions: OK'.
